Principal
Attorney Bayonne is a native of Long Island, New York and earned his J.D. from Southern University Law Center (SULC). Gilbert began his legal career serving as an Assistant District Attorney with the Bronx District Attorney’s Office in the Narcotics and Gang Investigations Bureau. It was while with the Bronx District Attorney’s Office that he laid the foundation to become a successful trial lawyer.
While in law school, Gilbert was a member of the SULC Moot Court Board, and served as an editor on the Southern University Law Review. Gilbert also represented clients charged with felony and misdemeanor crimes through the SULC Criminal Law Clinic.
During his time as SULC, Gilbert’s Law Review article “The Fire Next Time: Foster v. Chatman and the Inevitability of Peremptory Prejudice” won the National Law Review Award. Gilbert also served as President of the SULC National Lawyers Guild (SULC NLG) Chapter.
Attorney Bayonne is committed to the professional and rigoruous representation of clients. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the Southern District of New York. Gilbert is a first-generation Haitian-American and is fluent in Haitian Creole.
